These types of plastic booster fans get brittle and break over time. I’ve been seeing more of them lately and will probably post more pictures soon. They are especially susceptible to damage when the builder hangs a heavy lint box from the fan. It doesn’t help when screws are in the brittle plastic.
The solution is a new fan. Made of metal that will last a very long time. The lint box is also relocated to a better spot that is not hanging from the fan. The new spot for the lint box is much more accessible for the user.

When fixing a broken plastic booster fan, it’s important to always go with a quality metal dryer booster fan.

As always I recommend a good dryer vent cleaning from Michael A. Smith Duct Cleaning.
